Holiday Bizarre!!!

We are having a BIZARRE Holiday celebration over at Only Prettier.

There's an auction with tons of boutique things from bling jewelry, to funky chunky necklaces, to OTT bows, custom boots and custom signs!! Serious?! YES. SERIOUS!!! PARTAYYYYYY.

There are about 10 vendors participating so a little of everything.

CUSTOM - It's how I roll

I love using magazines, pictures, nature and art to get my inspiration for new pieces.

But my favorite inspiration is bouncing off ideas with a customer.

Recently, my friend, Jasmine, contacted me to make her a custom Witch's Hat for her daughter.

I was right away, honored, as Jasmine is super crafty and she looked to me to create this hat for her daughter!! :)

So after talking about some ideas... here's the finished product.

B.U.S.Y. is my Name

Let me start off by saying how THANKFUL I am for being so busy.

I love having three active kids who want to run, play, climb, sing and dance. Not to mention the reading, coloring, feeding, etc. I love that they aren't bumps on logs LOL.

I love having a job I can do from home. Though, I wish I made more $$$ doing it... beggars can't be choosy.

& Lastly, my business Only Prettier is really booming!! I would love if you'd check it out. We have tons of stuff!! Handmade jewelry, hair accessories, home decor, some clothing, shoes, bling, pettiskirts, pettirompers, hats, hand crocheted/ knitted goods, etc.

Photography Props

I love photos...

I have such a high admiration for photographers who are truly artist. They take something simple and make it beautiful. They capture moments words cannot describe.

& while I am not a photographer... I do enjoy it as a hobby. And I enjoy making props even more so. From newborn photo props... to senior portraits... to bridal and birthday!!

Here is a Halloween prop/ costume piece I made. It works for both Lil' Miss and Miss. It's a great piece to make you or your Lil' Miss' Halloween Costume really POP and stand out.

Taste Of Dallas

This past weekend was the Taste of Dallas, and Only Prettier's first show!!

We were so nervous. What if we forgot something? What if no one liked our things? What if we missed something up??

Being able to hide behind a computer screen or a boutique is easy smeasy compared to doing a show.

You are no longer introducing your product but who you are as well.

Thankfully, I forgot NOTHING. We had enough change.... and I don't think we missed anything up.

The show started Friday evening. Unfortunately, there was not much action for vendors.

Saturday, the show was much better... People really seemed to respond and look at our products. I didn't have a chance to walk around a lot... but from what I saw, we were very unique in our set up and our merchandise and I take pride in that. I am tired of everything looking the same and everyone wearing the same things.

Sunday made our weekend!! I was so excited.

When we, Lisa - Toe Ring Queen and I, showed up at the show on Sunday morning, one of the large vendors were breaking down their spot. I went over to inquire what was going on. They stated they were leaving. :(

At that point... my mind started thinking... I asked them if they would mind if we slipped into their spot?? Of course, they said no. So we did!!! That vendor had quite a large spot on a main aisle so I was stoked. Lisa, on the other hand, didn't want to move everything. So I reassured her I would and I did.

Within 10 mins of being in our new spot... she sold a few toe rings and I sold a few pretties!! AWESOME!!
We are now pumped up!! We learnt a lot during our first show and made a lot of connections. We cannot wait until our next show; Mansfield's Wurst Fest. So if you are local to DFW... come see us. Get some pretties and say hi <3
